I am a mutt, with a mixture of nationalities under my belt: Polish, English, German and Irish, and even Canadian, since I was born in Toronto. So up until 4 years ago, I cheered for my cultural teams - but, I got turned-off from England, once I got into world history :P Having many Italian friends, I wanted very much for Italy to rock the Euro 2012 game of Italy vs. England.
The game was pretty happening. Usually, both teams pull a 'possum' type game , where they sit-back, play dead and wait for some cheap counter opportunities. But this time, they were both bringing it, building up the tension, as England fought back Italy, who had 63% of the ball possession.
Finally, in the end, the Azzurri won 4-2 in penalties and Cafe Diplomatico, in Toronto's Little Italy, erupted into a jubilee of excitement, with masses going wild and stopping traffic in the streets!

Great game for both teams. I am excited to cheer for Italy again: the underdogs of the upcoming game vs. Germany! Forza Italia!
