...Dawn Of The Dead. This 1978 George Andrew Romero joint is the yardstick by which all zombie movies are judged. It's such a classic that they remade it in 2004 starring Canadian Icon Sarah Polley and Pulp Fiction kingpin Ving Rhames. This homage was released before the current trend of remaking-old-movies-instead-of-inventing-new-ones even started!

I watched the 21st Century version in the theatre with an old drummer friend, who was an AD on the production and even directed a scene! Members of the zombie nation could also make the same argument for Romero's 1968 Night Of The Living Dead which was also remade before the remake craze but none of my crew crewed on that set.
